make sure to click Madrid the CITY, as opposed to Madrid the comunidad.

When researching for a piso, make sure to also narrow your search by barrio. It easier to get a better idea of price ranges and locations that way, as opposed to going through endless lists. The names of barrios may change on the websites, so here are some of the name changes that you may see:

List of barrios popular student barrios:

-Sol area (El centro, callao)

-Malasaña (Universidad o El Centro)–El Mejor Barrio!!!! (yo viví en corredera baja de san pablo, justo a la plaza de ildefonso)

-Chueca (El centro o justicia)

-Bilbao-quevedo-moncloa

-Lavapies (Embajadores, lavapies)

-Atocha-anton martin

Make sure you find a place within the dotted area of the attached map.

Pay attention to what is included, or not, in your rent (utilities, water, etc), quiet building hours, house guest rules, cleaning, etc. Don’t be surprised after your stay if you’re asked for additional money – know now what you are responsible for paying.
